A quickfire Q&A with a London based studio founder on a mission to spread the message of health beyond appearance and wellbeing beyond your being.
Tell us a little bit about yourself…
I’m Natalia Bojanic, a former Public Relations Director who is on a mission to spread a meaningful message to the world as Head of Good Vibes & Co-Creator of METHOD, a wellness & fitness studio in Chelsea, London.
When did you qualify and where do you teach?
I qualified as a Holistic Health Educator in November 2015 at the Hippocrates Health Institute and as a Yoga Instructor in July 2016. I have been teaching Mindfulness at METHOD since September 2016. In my classes I share the lessons I’ve learnt during my quest to show people that the only commitment we should have is to happiness and that the meaning of life is to acquire virtues to be a better person.
Tell us more about METHOD?
METHOD is a destination to strengthen the body & mind. Our vision is to offer results-based fitness and wellbeing solutions in a fun and feasible way. To create an environment where progress is key and a sense of community is paramount. The mission of our movement is to create and spread a message of health beyond appearance and wellbeing beyond your being.
METHOD is the brainchild of my former boyfriend/PT Joshua Clark. He and I have been part of it since it’s first breath. He needed someone who he trusts and who is genuinely interested in yoga to run the wellness aspect of the business. Joshua kindly sponsored my yoga teacher training in India and time in the Himalayas in a Buddhist meditation centre so I could gather the wisdom and good vibes to manage the wellness side of the studio and communications.
What’s the best piece of business advice you’ve ever received?
The sentence “look for supporters and not followers” is advice I live by. Optimise your time by focusing on what you do best and surround yourself with people that have a different skill set from you.
Josh is great with numbers, so thankfully he deals with the finance and administrative aspects of the business – leaving creative space and freedom for my throat chakra to thrive – as admittedly he is not the best communicator! Our communications strategy is to let the results that our transformation programmes deliver to our clients speak for us. That speaks louder than anything we can say. There is no better PR than true story telling and no more effective marketing than word-of-mouth.
What business focused resources would you recommend and why?
The book “Start Something That Matters” by Blake Mycoskie has had a huge influence on me. Being the CEO of your own life requires a lot of passion and commitment, so when I need a burst of inspiration and motivation I listen to Robin Sharma‘s podcasts. He speaks with purpose, awesome intentions and his advice is easily put into practice in everyday life.
What do you know now that you wished you had known when you started METHOD?
That yoga teachers are carefree spirits! When your most popular teacher decides to go travelling you just have breathe, accept, enjoy another set of 50 class trials and be open to the opportunity of finding other great teachers!
Practicing detachment and equanimity is always a challenge…
What are you most excited about now?
Our Mindful METHOD programme, which we put together to create space for reflection and results to happen on and off the mat. It’s so rewarding to see the positive impact a 28 Day yoga & meditation challenge has on people’s lives. Most of our clients have never done yoga or meditation before, so being in a position to offer tools that deliver clarity & confidence to go through life and cultivate inner-peace it is a real privilege for me.
In addition to see the excitement of the students when they step into our Mindful Garden- the only space in London where you can practice alfresco yoga and get fresh prana is an awesome feeling. Yoga and mediation are transformative tools that have helped me go through a lot in life like divorce, change of career and other heavy stuff, so to pass these teachings onto others is a duty of love that fills me with joy.
